It is God’s will that all his children are financially sound and successful. He wants you to go from glory to glory in every area your life, including your finances. God is not idle, it just isn’t in his nature and we were created in his image. So many people struggle with this concept, and somehow think it is bad to desire financial abundance. “Well, money is the root of all evil, it says so in the Bible.” How many times have you heard someone say this? If you are going to quote the Bible, be sure you know what it says. So what does it say?

For the love of money is the root of all evil… 1 Timothy 6:10

Clearly it is not saying money is evil. In fact, money is neutral. It takes on the character of the person who possesses it. It can be used for evil, but money itself is not evil. Nor is it bad to have a lot of it! If it becomes your idol, if it governs you instead of you governing it, that is when it is bad.

You will find example after example of people in the Bible that God increased and blessed (substantially) with material things and wealth. What about God is poor? And are we not his children? Do you wish poverty on your children? Is it not your desire that they even exceed your accomplishments in life and have success? Why in the world would we insult our heavenly Father with such notions that he wants us groveling in poverty. It is absolutely absurd to think that and it is a character assassination of God himself!

Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go. Isaiah 48:17

That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. Proverbs 8:21

We can’t say God doesn’t want us blessed, because he wouldn’t teach us to profit if it wasn’t his will. The word “substance” in Proverbs 8:21 is the Hebrew word for “wealth”, so God is definitely talking about tangible things.

How do you experience supernatural increase and wealth?

  1. First, you have to recognize and settle in your heart that it is God’s will to prosper you, otherwise you will not be able to walk in faith to receive it. Let a poverty mentality have no place in you!
  2. You have to renew your mind so that you believe the truth (that will make you free), build your faith, and starve all doubt (get rid of your “double mind”).
  3. Practice and learn to hear the voice of God so that you can be led by him.
  4. Get committed to tithing and offering. I can’t stress this enough. I have seen the covenant benefits materialize in my own life because of this. I have done this faithfully since I was in my early twenties when I got a revelation of what it meant. People want to experience the abundance of God, but they squeeze their hand so tight around their cash that if it were a living thing they would have choked it to death. God says if we don’t tithe, we are robbing him, remember he has given us everything we have anyway. “Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me… Malachi 3:8-9” A lot of people argue that is Old Testament and doesn’t apply. First of all, why do we need to argue so hard? It is a heart issue. People aren’t willing to believe it because they aren’t willing to do it. Back to the other argument about it being the Old Testament, check out what Jesus said about it: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Matthew 23:23 This verse is New Testament, and spoken by Jesus directly, so that settles that. Real happiness comes by building the kingdom, not hoarding everything to yourself. And that is where the covenant is for financial abundance as well. I heard Joyce Meyer say once that God told her (when she was complaining about making a life change that others were allowed to do that she didn’t think was that big of a deal), “Joyce, you’ve asked for a lot, do you want it or not?”
  5. Lastly, you act on what God tells you to do! Step out in faith and keep your eyes on the promise of provision from God, not matter what it looks like in the natural. Expect God to back up his word!

How do I renew my mind?

You renew your mind with the word of God. You meditate on the word nonstop concerning financial prosperity (or any other need you have). That is where your supernatural breakthrough comes in. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. The Bible says you will be “transformed” by the renewing of your mind!

Listen to Provision Scriptures

The following recording is a mix of scriptures regarding financial blessings as well as scriptures to build faith that highlight God’s faithfulness and promise to perform his word. All the scriptures on the recording are written out below, so you can read along while you listen. Put the word of God in front of your eyes, faith will come by hearing (according to his word) by listening to them and putting them in your ears, and speak them out of your mouth in faith!
